Male Breast Diagnostics

Early Detection and Evaluation of Male Breast Health

Male breast cancer is an uncommon condition that develops in the breast tissue of men. While breast cancer is more frequently associated with women, men also have a small amount of breast tissue and can develop the disease. Male breast cancer most often occurs in older men, though it can develop at younger ages as well. The breast tissue in men contains ducts and fatty tissue, but typically fewer milk-producing glands. Because of this, many male breast cancers begin in the ductal tissue of the breast.

When detected early, male breast cancer is often highly treatable, and early diagnosis can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment.
